The potentials and advantages of the district that has agricultural strengths effectively exploited

(BNP) - “Luong Tai district needs to clearly identify key tasks and breakthrough solutions, to take advantage of agricultural support policies to effectively exploit the potentials and strengths of the locality that has agricultural strengths”.

It is the direction of Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at the conference to deploy the tasks in 2019 of Luong Tai district taken place on January 10th.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Quynh acknowledged and praised the achievements of Luong Tai district over the past year, especially the results of new rural development and agricultural structure transformation, and high concentration for solving environmental issues, thereby contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the province.

In 2018, the socio-economic situation of Luong Tai district showed many positive results. Economic growth rate reached 9.6%, seeing an increase of 2.1% compared to 2017. Economic structure shifted into the right direction, particularly, agriculture, forestry and fishery sector accounted for 24%, the industrial sector accounted for 35.2%, while service sector accounted for 40.8%. Budget revenue in the district reached VND 112 billion; cultivation value reached 171 million VND/ha; adding 3 communes to the destination of new rural development, bringing the total number of communes meeting the standard of new rural development to 11 of 13 communes. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stressed that Luong Tai district should continue to strictly implement the central, provincial directives, especially following the 2019’s theme of "Bac Ninh acts for the clean environment", to have detailed solutions to complete the plans in 2019 and make the vision for the coming years. In particular, it is necessary to identify two key tasks in the year including meeting the standards of new rural development at the district level and creating the milestones to celebrate the 20th anniversary of district re-establishment.

Moreover, Luong Tai district needs to take advantages of strengths of agricultural land to develop plants with high potential to bring high value, promote the application of science and technology, develop hi-tech agricultural production models, select a typical product for each commune, Chairman Nguyen Tu Quynh noted.

On this occasion, many collectives and individuals who have remarkable achievements were rewarded by the Prime Minister, Provincial Party Standing Committee, Provincial People's Committee, and Luong Tai district.
