The province built 165 fish farming areas in concentrated ponds

(BNP) - As reported by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the province has formed 165 fish farming areas in concentrated ponds (scale of 10 ha or more) with a total area of 3,229ha so far.

Cage fish farming in the river brings high economic efficiency.

In particular, the area of fish farming in concentrated ponds is mainly in districts of Gia Binh, Luong Tai, and Tien Du, giving the yield of 20-30 tons/ha; and nearly 60% of the area uses water fans, biological products to treat water environment.

Fish cage farming movement in the river continues to develop, forming 22 specialized areas with a total of more than 1,600 cages, typically, 4 farms have the scale of 80 cages or more, with a yield of 4-6 tons of fish/cage.

In particular, the whole province has 11 VietGAP certified aquaculture establishments. Currently, many enterprises, cooperatives, and households in the province are actively applying high technology in aquaculture such as using Biofloc biotechnology; recruitment and import of broodstock; applying hybrid methods to produce broodstock breeds; aquaculture production under VietGAP model, preserving the ecological environment..., contributing to increasing production efficiency and developing sustainable fisheries sector.
