Bac Ninh ranks 15th in the Provincial Competitiveness Index of 2018

(BNP) - According to the ranking index of the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2018, Bac Ninh province ranked 15 of 63 provinces and cities with 64.5 points, increasing 2 places and 0.14 points in comparison with 2017, within the group of provinces with good quality.

Quang Ninh province for the second consecutive year ranked No.01 on the PCI ranking with 70.36 points; followed by Dong Thap with 70.19 points and Long An with 68.09 points.

In the Red River Delta region, Bac Ninh province ranked fourth after Quang Ninh (ranked No. 1), Hanoi (ranked 9th), and Vinh Phuc (ranked 13th).

For the component indicators, Bac Ninh province has 05 indexes increased compared to 2017: Time cost (+ 0.47 points); Fair competition (+ 1.45 points); The dynamics of the provincial government (+ 0.18 points); Labor training (+ 0.13 points); and Legal institutions and security (+ 0.67 points).

Meanwhile, 05 indexes declined including Market entry (- 0.05 points); Land access (- 0.18 points); Transparency (- 0.08 points); Unofficial expenses (-0.58 points); Business support services (- 0.34 points).

This is the 14th year in a row that PCI’s report has been published. This year's report is based on feedback from 12,000 businesses, of which nearly 11,000 private enterprises are operating in 63 provinces and cities and over 1,500 FDI enterprises are operating in 20 localities.
