The Provincial People's Committee rewards 24 athletes who obtained high achievement at the National Sport Festival

(BNP) - On December 12th, the Provincial People's Committee celebrated the rewarding ceremony to athletes who obtained high achievement at the 8th National Sports Festival in 2018. 

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Quynh presents certificates of merit to the athletes who obtained high achievement at the National Sports Festival.

During the 8th National Sports Festival, the Bac Ninh sports delegation dispatched 18 coaches and 91 athletes to compete for 10 of 36 subjects, setting the target of average good nationwide. After nearly one month, Bac Ninh team has 30 medals including 5 gold medals, 11 silver medals, 14 bronze ones, ranking 29 of 65 provinces and cities in the country. Compared with the 7th National Sports Festival, Bac Ninh increased 2 levels and 14 medals (1 gold medal, 6 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals).

Warmly congratulating the typical athletes on their high achievements at the 8th National Sports Festival, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Quynh emphasized that Bac Ninh always paid attention to, invested synchronously in material facilities, training environment, and remuneration, reward policies. The province has given the efforts to create the best conditions for coaches and athletes to participate in competitions and achieve high achievements in the domestic and international sports tournaments.

In the coming time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee asked the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to review, analyze, and evaluate the Sports and Physical Training Festivals at all levels in order to select the suitable subjects, training plans for the next high achievements, contributing to raising the position of Bac Ninh sports on the domestic and international arena.

On this occasion, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 24 athletes who achieved high achievements at the 8th National Sports Festival in 2018.
