Vice Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan works with Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism
(BNP) - In the morning of August 17, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan worked with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on development of high-performance sport of the province.

After nearly 10 years of implementing the Project "Key investment program in high-performance sport in Bac Ninh province until 2020", up to now, the apparatus organization were consolidated with 3 units: Department of Physical Education and Training, Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center and Provincial Volleyball Training Center, with 77 staffs and100% coaches having a bachelor's degree in physical education or higher.
Currently, the province is training 12 sports including Wrestling, Karate, Boxing, Fencing, Weightlifting, Judo, Wushu, Tennis, Pencak Silat, Kickboxing, Men's Football, Women's Volleyball, with a total of 373 athletes. In the period of 2013 - 2020, Bac Ninh sports completed and exceed the target on the number of medals at national and international tournaments.
Specifically, weightlifter Do Tu Tung won 6 gold medals and broke the world youth wrestling record; boxer Nguyen Van Duong set a miracle after 33 years for Vietnamese Boxing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The ranking and achievements have been raised through the National Sports and Sports Festivals. In 2018, ae the 8th National Sports Festival, Bac Ninh Sports Delegation ranked 29 out of 65 provinces, cities and sectors.
Tuan highly valued the high achievements of Bac Ninh during the past time, contributing to the overall achievements of the national sport.
He urged the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to deploy the province’s sports with potential and strengths; make a system of selection and training of athletes in a scientific and sustainable manner, thereby attracting and promoting the movement of sports in the province especially high-performance sports as well as advertising the sports image of the province.
