(BNP) – “Ao Dai Week” was one of many practical activities organized by the Women’s Unions at all levels to celebrate the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2030 term; commemorate the 116th anniversary of International Women’s Day (March 8, 1910 – March 8, 2026) and the 1,986th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising.
Women in Kinh Bac ward respond to “Ao Dai Week” 2026.
In the first working days of March, female officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers across Bac Ninh province joyfully wore graceful ao dai to respond to “Ao Dai Week.” From March 1, Kinh Bac ward and Hoang Van commune became more vibrant and lively as women wore ao dai of various colors to work. Taking advantage of arriving early, many gathered at the office gates to take photos and capture elegant moments in traditional attire.
In Yen The commune, the Commune Women’s Union launched “Traditional Ethnic Costume Week 2026.” The week ran from March 2 to March 8, 2026, calling on female cadres, union members, civil servants, teachers, female youth union members, and women of all backgrounds in the commune to actively participate by wearing ao dai or appropriate traditional ethnic costumes, taking photos, and sharing beautiful images on social media.
Alongside wearing ao dai and traditional ethnic costumes, during “Ao Dai Week,” Women’s Unions at all levels also organized mass folk dance performances on March 8, 2026, at public spaces and cultural-historical sites, featuring Vietnamese songs praising the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the homeland.

“Ao Dai Week” 2026 was being actively embraced by women across the province from March 1 to March 8, 2026, with peak activities on March 8, featuring creative and practical initiatives linked to local political events. This was not only a meaningful annual cultural activity but also an opportunity for Vietnamese women to express national pride and a sense of responsibility in preserving and promoting cultural heritage, contributing to building the image of modern Vietnamese women—confident, responsible, compassionate, and creative.
