(BNP) – On the morning of March 1 (the 13th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Horse), Tien Du Commune organized the opening of the Lim Traditional Festival – Spring Binh Ngo 2026. This was a festival rich in the cultural identity of Bac Ninh – Kinh Bac, attracting a large number of local people and visitors from all over to attend.

From early morning, roads across the 7 villages of Tien Du Commune were bustling with locals and tourists heading to the festival. “Lien anh” and “lien chi” gracefully carried their traditional flat hats while the smooth and affectionate melodies of Quan Ho folk songs echoed, captivating people’s hearts.

A highlight of the festival was the procession from neighboring villages to the Mausoleum of General Nguyen Dinh Dien on Lim Hill, stretching for several kilometers and attracting a large number of locals and visitors.

This year, the Lim Traditional Festival was held over two days, from February 28 to March 1 (the 12th and 13th days of the first lunar month of the Year of the Horse), across 7 villages in Tien Du commune, Bac Ninh province, featuring many distinctive cultural highlights. The center of the festival was Hong Van (Lim) Mountain and Van Tuong Lake.

The Lim Festival – Spring Binh Ngo 2026 was the first to be organized by Tien Du Commune after the two-tier local government model was officially implemented nationwide. The festival aimed to honor and spread the cultural traditions of the Kinh Bac region, especially Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk singing, which had been recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and the Lim Festival, which had been recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

This was also an opportunity to promote the image of the land and people of Tien Du, create a vibrant atmosphere of emulation among all social strata, and contribute to the successful implementation of local socio-economic development goals.

In addition to the central area with 12 Quan Ho singing tents, the festival was also held simultaneously in 7 villages: Lung Giang, Lung Son, Due Dong, Dinh Ca, Due Nam, Due Khanh, and Lo Bao, creating a unique and typical Quan Ho cultural space with various forms such as duet singing, overnight singing, stage performances, boat singing, and performances at communal houses, pagodas, and artisans’ homes.
