“2024 Full Moon Festival – Lanterns light up dreams” takes place

(BNP) – On September 16 (i.e. the 14th day of the 8th lunar month), the Provincial Youth Union, the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and the People’s Committee of Tu Son city jointly organized the “2024 Full Moon Festival – Lanterns light up dreams” for the province’s children at Tu Son City People's Committee Hall.

Participants at the program were Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mrs. Tran Thi Van, Deputy Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; leaders of the provincial departments, branches, sectors and organizations; districts, towns and cities as well as a large number of children and people in the province.

Before starting the program, the delegates and all the children observed a minute of silence to remember the victims who died due to the storm and flood.

With the theme “Lanterns light up dreams”, the 2024 Full Moon Festival is a special gift for the children on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival, especially this year's Mid-Autumn Festival takes place at the time when the North is going through difficult days and months due to natural disasters. The program is a meaningful and practical gift to children, wishing them a warm and loving Mid-Autumn Festival; encouraging them to actively compete in studying, striving to become good children and good students. At the same time, it shares with poor children, those in difficult circumstances in life, and whom affected by typhoon No. 3, helping them have a complete Mid-Autumn Festival.

At the program, 80 children with difficult circumstances, who have made great efforts to gain many achievements in their studies, were commended and rewarded. The Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Team Council, and the People's Committee of Tu Son city presented 80 gifts to 80 students in the province affected by typhoon No. 3 (total value of gifts is about more than VND 500 million).


Sponsors award the "Helping students go to school" scholarship for the 2024 - 2025 school year to children.

The Organizing Committee also awarded 33 “Helping students go to school” scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year (with a total value of nearly VND 215 million) to students who strive to improve their lives and attain high academic achievements.

Many unique cultural and artistic activities were performed by the Art Team of the Provincial Children’s Activity Center, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere for the children.

The Organizing Committee organized the journey “Bringing Mid-Autumn Festival to children affected by storms and floods” in localities in the province which are heavily affected by typhoon No. 3 and Bac Ninh Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital.

The program contributes to helping children in areas heavily affected by recent storms and floods and those who have to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival away from home receive timely attention and encouragement from social organizations.
