18th Session, Bac Ninh Provincial People's Council term XIX, term 2021 – 2026 opens

Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC), Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang, Deputy Secretary of the PPC, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of the Provincial  People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee, Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; leaders of departments, branches and sectors of the province and districts, towns and cities.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Standing Vice Chairwoman Tran Thi Hang said: In 2024, Bac Ninh continues to face many difficulties and challenges, but under the leadership and direction of the PPC, the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the activities of the Provincial People's Council have had many innovations in the direction of improving quality and efficiency. The management of the Provincial People's Committee is focused and determined to remove bottlenecks, difficulties, and obstacles. Therefore, in the first 6 months of the year, the province's socio-economic situation has had positive changes, initially recovering well, GRDP grew by 2.32%. However, there are still certain limitations that need to be overcome. To ensure the successful completion of tasks in 2024, the Standing Vice Chairman emphasized the meaning and importance of the meeting for the province’s socio-economic development, creating momentum and strength to bring the province to stable and sustainable development.

At the 18th session, the Provincial People's Council focused on discussing periodic contents according to regulations.

On behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong presented the report on the socio-economic situation and the management work of the Provincial People's Committee in the first six months of the year, the implementation plan for the last six months of 2024. The Provincial People's Council listened to the reports assessing the implementation of public investment in the first six months of 2024; adjustment of the provincial budget public investment plan in 2024; the report of assessing the results of the implementation of the budget estimate in the first 6 months of the year, the plan to adjust the allocation of the provincial budget in the last 6 months of 2024…

Speaking at the session, Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan delivered an important speech directing the 18th session, Provincial People's Council term XIX to well implement the goals and tasks of 2024, creating an important premise to accelerate the completion of tasks for the 2020-2025 period.

According to plan, the meeting takes place in 1,5 days. At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council will focus on reviewing and discussing Reports and Proposals of relevant agencies to resolve issues of budget finance, public investment and many other important contents.
