According to the Decision, it is needed to add the task of "Organizing training classes for making Dong Ho folk paintings" in the national nomination dossier “Dong Ho folk paintings” to submit UNESCO for the recognition of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding with a variety of contents such as inviting Dong Ho village’s folk artisans joining teaching at the training classes, ensuring the conditions on facilities for training activities, and selecting learners,…

Previously, in March 2018, the Chairman of Provincial People's Committee approved the detailed outline of the national nomination dossier “Dong Ho folk paintings” to submit UNESCO for the recognition of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding.

Relevant units finalize the dossier as required by UNESCO (if any); organize international scientific seminars; mobilize, enlist the help of UNESCO and members of the Appraisal Council, nations that are members of the Intergovernmental Committee of UNESCO (April - December 2019).

According to the deadline, in December 2019, the records of the village of Dong Ho folk paintings will be considered by UNESCO in the regular meeting of UNESCO.

The establishment of the national nomination dossier “Dong Ho folk paintings” to submit UNESCO for the recognition of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding plays an important role to keep preserving and promoting cultural values of craft villages, at the same time raising awareness of people in the preservation of traditional cultural values in general.
