Exhibition “Heritage of Practices related to Viet beliefs in Mother Goddesses of Three Realms in Bac Ninh province” opens

(BNP) – On November 17, the Provincial Museum held an opening ceremony of thematic exhibition themed “Heritage of Practices related to the Viet beliefs in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms in Bac Ninh province”.


The delegates perform the opening ceremony of the thematic exhibition.

Participants at the ceremony were leaders of the Department of Science and Technology; the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives from provincial departments and sectors as well as a large number of youth union members and students in Bac Ninh province.

With more than 300 images, documents, and artifacts, the exhibition was divided into 3 themes including: Bac Ninh, the cradle of ancient Vietnamese and beliefs in the Mother Goddesses, of which, the theme focused on introducing Bac Ninh - the sacred land with extraordinary people, the cradle of ancient Vietnamese and the original land of Viet beliefs in Mother Goddesses, with the most ancient temples and pagodas worshipping “Quốc Mẫu” (National Mothers) or “Mẫu nghi thiên hạ” (the Mother of the World), such as temple of Au Co National Mother, pagoda of Buddha Mother Man Nuong, and temple of Thanh Giong’s Mother.

Introduction to the famous sacred temples in Bac Ninh such as: Cung temple – Ngoc Well; Lady King temple – Quan Ho ancestor; Ba Chua Kho temple; Tam Phu temple, etc. At the same time, the Practices related to the beliefs in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms by some typical artisans in Bac Ninh province was introduced.

The preservation and promotion of the Practices related to the Viet beliefs in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms in Bac Ninh province include: introduction to the event that the beliefs in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms were inscribed in 2016 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO; and achievements in the preservation and promotion of the Practices related to the beliefs in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms in Bac Ninh province.

The exhibition aimed to introduce a large number of people to the core values, characteristics, and typical and unique features of the cultural heritage of the Viet beliefs in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms in Bac Ninh province in contemporary society, thereby, contributing to the honor, preservation and promotion of national cultural values in the cause of building and defending the country.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the delegates visited the thematic exhibition “Heritage of Practices related to the Viet beliefs in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms in Bac Ninh province”.

According to the Plan, the exhibition takes place from now to the end of March 2024 in the Provincial Museum.
