Government holds 8th meeting of State Steering Committee for important national and key works and projects in Transport sector
(BNP) – On November 25th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the State Steering Committee for important national and key works and projects in the Transport sector, chairs the 8th meeting of the Steering Committee.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ngo Tan Phuong and leaders of departments, sectors and localities attended the meeting at the Bac Ninh’s venue.
To date, the transport sector now has 34 large projects, and 86 important projects and component projects, of these, there are 5 railway projects, 2 airport projects, the remaining are highway projects and ring roads in the capital Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, noting that maximal capital has been mobilized for transportation infrastructure development, one of the country’s three strategic breakthroughs.
Reporting on the implementation status of the Ring Road 4 project - Hanoi Capital Region (section through Bac Ninh province), Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong said that, up to now, the component project 1.3 is being completed the investment preparation work; strive to start construction projects in December 2023; the plan has been approved and 323.92/369.08 hectares are recovered, reaching 87.76%; the total disbursed amount is VND 1,090.86/1,3714 billion, reaching 83.02% of the plan. In the coming time, Bac Ninh province will continue to urge localities to speed up the progress of site clearance for the remaining agricultural land area, residential land, and assets on land; approve the compensation and grave relocation plan in 2023; complete the investment preparation work for infrastructure works; strengthen inspection and supervision; and promptly remove all difficulties and obstacles for contractors to speed up progress, etc.
Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministries, branches, and localities to actively participate and increase responsibility for implementing assigned tasks so that projects can be implemented on schedule. The investors and contractors review legal procedures and specific policy mechanisms; solve difficulties in raw materials and construction materials; strengthen inspection and supervision of progress, technical quality, fine arts, environmental sanitation, labor safety, and traffic safety, Chinh added.
The PM also asked the Steering Committee to address site clearance challenges and prepare pre-feasibility and feasibility reports for upcoming projects.
Immediately after the meeting, Vice Chairman Phuong requested departments, branches, and localities to seriously follow the Prime Minister's instructions. For the Ring Road 4 project - Hanoi Capital Region (section through Bac Ninh province), Phuong urged the investor to organize the selection of the contractor in December 2023, hand over the site in 2023, and deploy three bidding packages of Project 2.3. The Department of Transport synthesizes all difficulties and problems of localities related to site clearance. The Bac Ninh City, Que Vo Town, and Thuan Thanh Town quickly complete the work on completing the resettlement project, moving graves, interspersed land areas to implement the project soon, Phuong said.
