Hoai Trung village communal house
(BNP) - Hoai Trung village communal house (Lien Bao commune, Tien Du district) was originally built during the Le dynasty. By the Nguyen dynasty, the communal house was constructed on a large scale. In 1948, the structure was demolished and its materials were used to build the village to fight against the enemy and protect the people. It was not until 2000 that the communal house was restored on the old ground.

Hoai Trung village communal house is a place to worship 3 tutelary gods who were 3 generals and had contributions to liberating the nation during the Trung sisters’ period. Currently, the communal house still preserves a sacred legend carved in wood.

The communal house is located at the beginning of the village, facing south. On its right is Hung Phuc pagoda, in front of it is the main traffic road of the village, the remaining sides border the residential area. The communal house has an architecture of Chinese “Dinh” letter, including the Great Communal Hall and the Emperor’s Harem.

The Great Communal Hall is structured according to “4 curved blade roofs” style. The load-bearing frame structure is made of ironwood.

The traditional festival of Hoai Trung village communal house is held on January 11-12. The festival takes place with many folk games, attracting a large number of people.
Hoai Trung village communal house is ranked as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic according to Decision No. 1293/QD-UBND dated October 9, 2006.
