(BNP) - The logo was announced by Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Japan-Vietnam summit meeting in Cambodia on November 13, 2022.

The logo design contest was launched in June 2022. The contest received about 270 entries and 5,700 votes from the public voting program.
The logo is designed on the red field of the Japanese and Vietnamese national flags with pink motifs of Japanese cherry blossoms and Vietnamese lotus flowers. The intertwined numbers 5 and 0 represent the 50th anniversary, showing the exchange and hand in hand development. The diagonal pattern represents the image of looking forward to the future together. The overall logo is designed to be square so that it can be easily used for variety of purposes.
