Nearly 300 athletes attend 2019 Provincial Badminton and Tennis Championship

(BNP) - In 2 days (December 7th – 8th), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Provincial Badminton Federation, the Provincial Tennis Federation organized the Badminton and Tennis Championship for the age groups of Bac Ninh province in 2019.

Provincial leaders give flag to units participating in the Tournament.

The tournament attracted nearly 300 athletes from 32 units belonging to departments, branches, sectors, districts and town, city, universities, colleges and a number of enterprises in the province to participate in the competition.

In the category of badminton had some contents including men's singles (divided into 3 age groups from 16-18 years old, 19 - 30 years old and 31 - 40 years old); women's singles (divided into 2 age groups from 19 - 30 years old, 31 - 40 years old); male’s doubles (divided into 5 age groups  from15 and under, 19 - 30 years old, 31 - 40 years old, 41 - 50 years old, and 51 - 55 years old); women’s doubles (divided into 3 age groups from 19 - 30 years old, 31 - 40 years old and 41 - 50 years old) and the couple (divided into 3 age groups  from 40 years old and younger, 41 - 51 years old, 51 years old and up).

Tennis competition content consisted of men’s singles (3 age groups from 10 to 12 years old, 30 years old and younger and 31 - 40 years old); men’s doubles (divided into 3 age groups from 18 - 30 years old, 31 - 40 years old and 41 - 50 years old) and singles and doubles, regardless of age group.

At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded gold, silver, and gold to the players who won the first, second and third prizes in each competition content.

The Badminton and Tennis Championship of Bac Ninh province for the age groups is a sport activity within the annual competition system of the province with an aim to promoting the campaign “All people exercise the body following Uncle Ho great example" as well as encouraging the development of the practice of badminton and tennis, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life for officials in the province./.
