Statue of Indian literary celebrity Tagore inaugurates in Bac Ninh
(BNP) - On October 15, the inauguration ceremony of statue of the famous Indian poet and writer, Rabindranath Tagore took place at the International Friendship Park of Bac Ninh province (Dai Phuc ward, Bac Ninh city).

Participants at the ceremony were Indian Ministry of External Affairs led by Minister S. Jaishankar; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam Sandeep Arya; Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies Nguyen Anh Tuan; Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan.

Addressing the ceremony, Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan highlighted the traditional friendship of Vietnam and India. The cooperation between the two countries have reaped many important achievements not only in politics-diplomacy but also in economics and defence-security, turning them into reliable and important partners of each other, matching their comprehensive strategic partnership, Tuan added.

There are currently 4 Indian projects investing in production and business in industrial parks in Bac Ninh, with a total investment of nearly USD 36 million. Tuan stressed that the statue of the great Indian poet is the first placed at the International Friendship Park of Bac Ninh, which the province builds to honour the cooperation and friendship between the province and foreign countries. He believed that the Minister's visit to Vietnam would further promote friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries in general and Bac Ninh province and Indian partners in particular.

Minister S. Jaishankar thanked the government and people of Bac Ninh for holding the ceremony to inaugurate the statue of Tagore, one of India's major cultural celebrities. He is also a poet, writer, playwright, composer, and musician... Emphasizing that Bac Ninh is currently an industrial development center with many international corporations, he hoped that Bac Ninh would continue have more comprehensive development in the future.
