17th Bac Ninh Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2023 - 2028

During the 2018-2023 term, the province’s Trade Unions at all levels established and innovated contents and methods of operation, focusing on the grassroots and performing well in the role of representative, caring for and safeguarding the legal and legitimate rights and benefits of union members and employees. Many innovative operating models have been launched, efficiently maintained year after year, and duplicated throughout the system.

During the term, about 1.3 million union members and workers received presents, bus tickets, and financial assistance to build “Trade Union Shelters” worth VND 677 billion. Trade unions at all levels signed a cooperation agreement for the welfare of union members and employees with 98 units…

During the term, 521 new grassroots trade unions were established, and 76,711 new union members were admitted. The work of construction of the Party and government has been paid attention, with 6,381 exceptional union members being introduced to the Party for consideration, training, and admittance...

With the theme “Innovation - Democracy - Solidarity - Development", term 2023 – 2028, the province’s Trade Unions at all levels strive to develop an additional 80,000 Trade Union members; establish 350 grassroots unions; at least 83% of enterprises and units have trade unions; each industrial park should have at least one welfare kiosk for trade union members ...

Speaking during the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor acknowledged, praised and congratulated the achievements of the province’s Trade Unions during their term.

He asked Bac Ninh province’s Trade Unions at all levels to continue to innovate content and operational ways to meet the province's unique qualities; improve the efficacy of programs and models that provide actual benefits to union members; enhance the Trade Union's proactive role in developing a team of workers and employees with strong political will, a strong sense of discipline, a cultural lifestyle, professional qualifications and skills, as well as labor discipline; encourage the development of a team of qualified trade union officials, abilities, and working techniques, as well as the proactive adaptation to changes in the circumstances and the requirements and tasks of the new period.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan urged the Provincial Trade Unions at all levels to constantly innovate the contents and methods of operation with content oriented towards the grassroots; pay attention to legal and legitimate rights and benefits of union members and employees; consolidate and re-organize the organizational apparatus, develop trade union members and organize grassroots trade unions.

Tuan further recommended that Party Committees at all levels, authorities, branches, sectors, the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations would continue to create favorable conditions for the work of Trade Unions at all levels to fulfill the demands and challenges of the modern era.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Executive Committee presented the flag with the banner "Bac Ninh Trade Union innovates and creates for workers, contributing to the construction of Bac Ninh province for sustainable, civilized, and modern development" to the Congress. Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Confederation Cap Van Huynh received Third Class Labor Medal of the President; Head of the Women's Propaganda Department, the Provincial Labor Confederation Nguyen Ngoc An received a Certificate of Merit of the Prime Minister; and many individuals with outstanding achievements were recognized by the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Labor Confederation.

The Congress elected 38 comrades to the 17th Bac Ninh Provincial Trade Union Executive Committee for the term 2023-2028; Comrade Nguyen Thi Van Ha was re-elected as Chairman of the Provincial Labor Confederation. At the same time, 14 official delegates and three alternate delegates will be elected to attend the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union.
