Bac Ninh city receives the Decision recognizing Class I provincial city

(BNP) – In the evening of March 17th, at the Kinh Bac Culture Center, Party Committee, People's Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Ninh province solemnly held the ceremony to announce the decision to recognize Bac Ninh city as a Class I provincial city.

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue granted the decision of the Prime Minister recognizing Bac Ninh city as a Class I city and the excellent emulation flag of the Government to the people and officials of Bac Ninh city.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Tran Van Tuy, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Committee for National Assembly Members’ Affairs, Vice Chairman of the Central Commission for Organization; Major General Nguyen Manh Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of Military Telecom Corporation (Viettel) and leaders of central ministries and branches.

Regarding the delegates from Bac Ninh, there were Mr. Nguyen Nhan Chien, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Members; Mr. Nguyen Huu Quat, Standing Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee; Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang, Chairwoman of Provincial People's Council and former provincial leaders in past periods; comrades in the Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee, National Assembly Delegation; The leaders of the departments, localities, representatives of Vietnamese Heroic Mother, Hero of the People's Armed Forces and a large number of people of the city.

In the renovation process, over 20 years of construction and development since its re-establishment, Bac Ninh city has achieved many important comprehensive results in various fields, contributing to general achievements of the province and the whole country.

According to statistics, gross domestic product (GRDP), in the term of 1997-2016, increased on average of 15.25% per year. In 2017, per capita income reached nearly 6,000 USD, the proportion of industry, construction and services occupied 98.7%; agriculture, forestry and fishery occupied 1.3%. The city's budget revenue obtained VND 2,206 billion, up 2.4 times compared to 2014, the total social investment reached nearly 40,000 billion VND in the period of 2014-2017 and so on.

Based on those achievements, after more than 3 years as a Class II city, on December 25th 2017, the Prime Minister issued Decision No.2088/QD-TTg recognizing Bac Ninh city as a Class I city under Bac Ninh province.
 

The delegates was at flag salute ceremony

On behalf of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue granted the decision of the Prime Minister recognizing Bac Ninh city as a Class I city and the excellent emulation flag of the Government to the people and officials of Bac Ninh city.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue stressed that recognizing Bac Ninh city as a Class I provincial city is an important event, marking a great development of a dynamic, creative city. Highly appreciating the contributions of the Party, authorities, and people of Bac Ninh city, Bac Ninh province in recent years, the Deputy Prime Minister asked the Bac Ninh city, Bac Ninh province to carry out drastically synchronized solutions for transforming the economic structure in the direction of improving competitiveness, in which, Bac Ninh city must be a modern city, smart.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman of the PPC Nguyen Tu Quynh affirmed the honor and pride of the Party, government, people of the city and the whole province when Bac Ninh city is recognized as a Class-I city. From now on, the city has been elevated to a new level, creating new impetus and spillover in the development process, which is an important premise for Bac Ninh province to become a centrally-run city.

The Chairman proposed both the political system and every citizen of the city to raise their determination to work for the bigger goal, which is to build the city into a financial and clean industrial center; a university, cultural, ecological and intelligent city, to create sustainable values for today and tomorrow.

After the ceremony, the special art program entitled "Bac Ninh city, cultural urban-brilliant spring" summarized the history of establishment and development of the city within 10 main parts.
