Conference to announce that Bac Ninh province has no more poor households held
(BNP) – On the afternoon of October 31, the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee held a conference to announce that Bac Ninh province has no more poor households and launch a movement “Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses” in Bac Ninh province.

Attending the Conference were Mr. Do Van Chien, member of Political Bureau, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Since the province's re-establishment in 1997, Bac Ninh has constantly focused on improving people's lives, issuing many policies to support social protection beneficiaries, the elderly and the disadvantaged people. In the work of hunger eradication and poverty reduction, Bac Ninh province has synchronously and effectively implemented the Government's policies as well as issued outstanding support policies such as: preferential credit loans, replicating poverty reduction models, supporting healthcare, education, housing, training tuition, vocational training, job creation for the poor... thereby, helping households escape poverty sustainably.
According to the Central poverty standard, by the end of 2023, the rate of poverty and near-poor decreased to 0.75% and 1.02% of total household population, respectively. By the end of October 2024, Bac Ninh province had no more poor households.
From 2013 to present, the province has completed housing support under the National Target Program for 7,926 households of people with revolutionary contributions and poor households with a total support budget of VND 399.94 billion.
At the Conference, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Ha launched the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" in the province with the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for 760 households, completed in 2025; ensuring that after supporting households to build safe houses, contributing to improving their lives in a stable and sustainable manner.
Speaking at the Conference, Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan requested local Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front Committee at all levels, and socio-political organizations to pay attention to and create livelihoods for newly escaped poverty households, near-poor households, and disadvantaged households so that people can be increasingly happy in their spiritual life, health, and physical health.
With the spirit of "Leaving no one behind", the Chairman requested all levels, sectors and localities to promote proactiveness, creativity and flexibility in order to achieve the goal of supporting housing construction for 760 households of people with revolutionary contributions, near-poor households and disadvantaged people in the whole province before September 2025.
The Chairman also urged the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to continue to preside over and coordinate with member organizations to propagate and call for organizations and individuals to actively respond to the movement. News agencies and newspapers should step up propaganda work to create social consensus so that everyone can support and share the community's responsibility in caring for the material and spiritual lives of the people, especially the disadvantaged and those who have contributed to the revolution.
At the Conference, delegates pressed the button to launch the movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" in the province. The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee received funding to support the movement from organizations and businesses and awarded signs to support house construction for 14 households as well as support people affected by storm No. 3 to localities in the province.
