Health Infrastructure in Bac Ninh
Since the re-establishment of the province, Bac Ninh’s heal sector has marked important milestones as well as recognized the increasingly comprehensive development of the health system from the province to the grassroots.
Up to now, the organization of the health sector consists of the Department of Health and 20 affiliated units. District health units such as the Medical Center, General Hospital, the District Population, and Family Planning Center have been merged into the District and Town Medical Center, which are operating under the model of Multifunctional Medical Center.
The sector currently has nearly 3.3 thousand civil servants, public employees, and labor contracts. In 2016, there were 10.1 doctors/10,000 people, by 2019 there would be 10.2 doctors/10,000 people; the number of hospital beds per 10,000 people was 27.7 beds (in 2016) and increased to 32.4 bed (in 2019); the rate of participation in health insurance in 2016 was 81%, increased to 91.3% in 2019; maintain the rate of 100% of communes meeting the national criteria for commune health.
The grassroots health system has been paid attention and invested in. Medical centers in districts and towns are fully equipped equipment such as Doppler ultrasound, X-rays, computerized tomography machines, cycle dialysis machines, endoscopic surgery systems, ... The rate of communes met the national set of criteria in 2015 from 73% (92/126 stations) to 100% in 2017 (126/126 stations).
In the field of medical examination and treatment, the health sector has focused on a series of key specialized techniques, contributing to helping local people to access advanced and modern medical services.
The work of HIV/AIDS prevention and control has been regularly and continuously implemented; the rate of people infected with HIV in the community is below 0.3%.
The immunization expansion has reached a high rate. Up to now, 80% of people make health management records at the health station.
