Index of industrial production increases by 13.11% in May 2024

Overall for 5 months, IIP of the entire industry for the first time in the year achieved positive growth (+0.16%) over the same period. In particular, in terms of level 1 industries, the manufacturing and processing industry increased slightly (+0.05%); the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning increased by 11.08% and the water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment activities increased by 21.32%. In terms of secondary industries, 16 industries having IIP index increased, of which some industries with high increases are: Manufacturing of tobacco products; drainage and wastewater treatment; production of beds, wardrobes, tables and chairs.
