(BNP) - On January 4, 2024, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan inspected the construction progress of emergency treatment project for riverbank landslides, section from K49+190 to K49+430 of Huu Cau dike, Van An ward, Bac Ninh city.

The project for emergency treatment of river bank landslides, section from K49+190 to K49+430 of Huu Cau dike, Van An ward, Bac Ninh city is invested by the Investment Management Board of Agricultural Projects and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development with a length of 180m and a total cost of about VND 55 billion.

After 20 days of concentrating maximum human resources, materials, and vehicles, Bac Ninh Construction Joint Stock Company has completed the retaining pile system, drilling 22/78 bored piles of concrete, surface leveling, and clearing the entire route. Currently, the construction unit is trying to speed up the progress and strive to complete the project before March 30, 2024, to meet the requirements of flood control during this year's stormy season and the travel needs of people.

Directly inspecting the construction progress and exchanging as well as encouraging people living around the landslide area, Tuan assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in coordination with the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Finance to urgently complete the investment documents and procedures to make a plan for urgently handling dyke incidents and insert it in the province's public investment portfolio.

The relevant units advise the Provincial People's Committee to send a document to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People's Committee of Bac Giang province to have a plan for completely handling the situation of encroachment on the flow on the left bank (Viet Yen district, Bac Giang province), leading to landslides on the right bank as well as continue to review and propose solutions for areas at risk of landslides in the province to ensure dyke safety and people's lives and property, Tuan added.
On the other hand, the Standing Vice Chairman asked the construction units to maximize human resources, arrange overtime, speed up construction progress, and strive to stabilize life for people who have to evacuate for construction purposes before the 2024 Lunar New Year.
