The inauguration ceremony of Ly Thuong Kiet Temple and Statue

On April 1st, Yen Phong district solemnly organized the inauguration ceremony of Ly Thuong Kiet statue and temple in Tam Giang commune.

Attending the ceremony were Lieutenant To Lam, Member of Politburo, Minister of Public Security; Mr. Nguyen Nhan Chien, Member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Members; the comrades of Provincial Party Standing Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee; Representatives of central institutes, ministries, leaders of departments, districts, city and town; particularly sculptor Nguyen Phu Cuong - the author of General Ly Thuong Kiet statue and the large number of local residents.

The construction project of Ly Thuong Kiet Temple was approved by Provincial People's Committee in Decision No.1266/QD-UBND dated October 29, 2015, includes 20 items with an area of 153 hectares, total investment of over VND 254 billion, divided into 5 subdivisions: Center of the temple, park, agricultural tourism land, resort and statue of General Ly Thuong Kiet. After more than a year of construction, the project has completed a few categories such as the temple, General Ly Thuong Kiet statue and some auxiliary items.

Given a speech at the ceremony, the Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Phong acknowledged and appreciated the donation of the enterprises and sponsors, the design and supervising units, and construction contractors, the author Nguyen Phu Cuong and members of Arts Council for the Ly Thuong Kiet Statue, organizations and individuals with large numbers of the people inside and outside the province. The  completion of the temple and statue of Ly Thuong Kiet and some auxiliary items have been ensured the historical value, quality, technical and artistic works, considered as a symbol of love, respect, great gratitude to General Ly Thuong Kiet - the hero of the nation in the resistance against the Chinese Song invaders on Nhu Nguyet river.

Besides, the Vice Chairman of the PPC suggested that, People's Committee of Yen Phong district needs to coordinate with the relevant departments to mobilize resources so that the construction of the items would be accelerated according to the approved design. Organizations and individuals continue to donating so that the project would be able to complete on the occasion of 943rd anniversary of Nhu Nguyet victory (1077-2020), Vice Chairman added. People's Committee of Yen Phong district also should closely coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to well manage, preserve and promote the value of relics, contributing to educating very good traditions for the offspring.

After the ceremony, delegates planted memorial trees at the temple complex of General Ly Thuong Kiet.
