(BNP) - Continuing their working visit to Japan, on the morning of April 27th, in Itami City, the Bac Ninh provincial delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, visited and worked at the Itami Yuai Institute of Seishokai Medical Corporation.
Mr. Matsumoto Akihide (wearing a white shirt) introduces the orientation for building a comprehensive care system for the elderly.
Joining in the delegation were Mr. Mai Son, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the Department of Health, the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial People's Committee Office, and representatives from several departments and agencies. Welcoming and working with the delegation were Mr. Matsumoto Akihide, Chairman of Seishokai Medical Corporation, and leaders of affiliated units.
During the meeting, the leaders of Seishokai Healthcare Group presented an overview of their comprehensive healthcare ecosystem development model, with a focus on nursing and elderly care.
Established in 1981, Seishokai aims to become a community-oriented healthcare group that not only treats illnesses but also provides long-term support to patients, especially the elderly. Currently, the group operates one hospital and five specialized dialysis clinics, serving around 700 patients and providing more than 300 treatment sessions each day. This is the largest-scale model of its kind in Hyogo Prefecture.
Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai speaks at the meeting.
However, Seishokai’s distinction lies not only in medical treatment but also in its approach to building a continuous post-treatment care system. On that foundation, the group has developed a comprehensive range of elderly care services, including rehabilitation facilities, assisted living residences, and a home nursing care system featuring regular check-ups and multifunctional support services.
This model allows elderly people, including those with chronic conditions such as kidney failure, to receive care in the community or at home, reducing the burden on hospitals and improving their quality of life.
Mr. Fujiwara, Senior Advisor of Seishokai Group introduces the group's medical services.
As part of the program, the delegation visited the Itami Yuai Institute and the Rinnekan nursing home, learning about the operational procedures, the organization of the care space, and the coordination between medical treatment and nursing services.
In reality, Seishokai's system doesn't separate hospitals from long-term care, but forms a continuous, patient-centered chain.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Matsumoto Akihide, Chairman of Seishokai Healthcare Group, stated that the group aims to build a comprehensive care system, closely integrating specialized treatment and long-term care for the elderly, while expanding home-based services to meet the growing needs of an aging society.
The delegation conducts a site visit to Itami Yuai Hospital.
Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai highly appreciated Japan's comprehensive healthcare model, especially its proactive approach to the aging population trend. These practical experiences are very valuable for Bac Ninh in its future development of the healthcare and social security system.
He expressed his desire for both sides to continue strengthening cooperation in training medical personnel, transferring technology, and researching the possibility of developing models for elderly care and home care suitable to the local conditions.
Leaders of the Seishokai Group welcome the Bac Ninh drovincial delegation to Japan for a visit and working session.
It is known that the Seishokai Medical Group has provided professional training support to Anh Quat General Hospital in Bac Ninh province in the field of hemodialysis.
This is considered an important foundation for both sides to continue expanding cooperation, not only in treatment but also in developing long-term healthcare services.
In the context of a gradually aging population, proactively researching and adopting advanced elderly care models like those in Japan is expected to help Bac Ninh gradually improve its healthcare system towards a modern, comprehensive, and sustainable direction.
