(BNP) - The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has directed relevant departments, agencies, and localities to urgently implement the work of preparing, appraising, and approving the General Urban Planning of Bac Ninh until 2050, with a vision to 2075, in order to complete the dossier for the Project to establish Bac Ninh city directly under the Central Government, to be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration in October 2026.

Accordingly, the Bac Ninh Civil and Urban Development Project Management Board No. 2 is assigned to conduct a simplified bidding process to select a consulting unit to prepare the planning, to be completed before July 5, 2026. The Department of Finance will guide the implementation of the bidding process; and at the same time, complete the dossier for adjusting the Bac Ninh Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, before June 26, 2026.
The Provincial People's Committee requests that all departments, agencies, and localities provide complete dossiers and documents for the planning process before 4 PM on June 25, 2026; and proactively participate in providing feedback during the planning process. Departments and agencies are responsible for working with central ministries and agencies to obtain appraisal opinions; the Department of Construction will take the lead in seeking opinions from neighboring localities including Hanoi, Hung Yen, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Lang Son, and Thai Nguyen.
The Bac Ninh Civil and Urban Development Project Management Board No. 2 will coordinate with the Department of Construction to organize the entire process of preparing, submitting for appraisal, and approving the plan; and will be responsible for the quality and progress of implementation. The Provincial People's Committee emphasizes that this is a particularly important task, requiring relevant units to focus intensely and ensure completion on schedule, contributing to the acceleration of the dossier for the establishment of Bac Ninh City as a centrally-governed city.
