(BNP) - On the morning of August 17, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan inspected the implementation of the Gia Binh International Airport project and preparations for the project's groundbreaking.

The Gia Binh International Airport and Hanoi connecting route project covers an area of over 1,964 hectares and is being invested to meet 5-star international standards, with the goal of becoming one of the ten most modern airports in the world. The project is expected to serve as a major driving force for socio-economic development in Bac Ninh province and surrounding regions, particularly the capital area. Additionally, it will help ease congestion at Noi Bai International Airport.

Through the on-site inspection, Chairman Tuan requested relevant sectors, units and localities to urgently carry out compile statistics on the current status, thoroughly handle old infrastructure items, organize landscape cleaning, ensure a green - clean - beautiful environment, as well as prepare conditions for the groundbreaking ceremony of Gia Binh International Airport project.

On the same day, Chairman Tuan visited and presented gifts at Tu Ne Church, Tu Ne village, Luong Tai commune. He also listened to and accepted the priest's opinions related to land allocation and resettlement for households and parishioners in the area affected by the Gia Binh International Airport project.
