Delegation of Foshan city, Guangdong province explores investment cooperation opportunities in Bac Ninh province

(BNP) - On the afternoon of September 11, Mr. Le Huu Nam, Deputy Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a working session with a delegation of Foshan City (Guangdong Province, China) led by Ms. To Hue Y, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Department, Foshan city to explore investment cooperation opportunities in the field of environment and waste treatment in Bac Ninh Province.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. To Hue Y, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Department, Foshan City expressed her joy and sincere thanks to the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee Office for giving the working delegation a warm, sincere and meaningful welcome.

She stressed Foshan's status as a significant economic and commercial center in the Pearl River Delta, one of the three economic growth poles of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, and China's fourth-largest industrial scale.  Products made in Foshan are exported to over 100 nations, regions, and territories.  Currently, the city is actively promoting international integration, including the development of global e-commerce across national lines.

Ms. To Hue Y expressed her admiration for the local economic growth rate, infrastructure and special policies that have attracted many FDI enterprises, including Chinese enterprises.

At the meeting, Han Lam Environmental Company representatives and participants exchanged information and discussed Bac Ninh province's waste treatment model.  At the same time, they provided an overview of Han Lam Environmental Company's operating model.  The company is one of China's top ten major environmental enterprises, delivering high-quality solid waste treatment services to 20 provinces, autonomous regions, and cities in China.  The company has also completed several waste-to-energy projects in Bangkok, Thailand, with a combined capacity of 3,300 tons per day.  Currently, the company concentrates on clean energy operations, creating high-quality factories using green power sources to assist communities in developing a green - low-carbon circular economic model.

At the meeting, Deputy Chief Le Huu Nam expressed his joy and thanked the delegation of the Foreign Affairs Department, Foshan City and Han Lam Environmental Company for visiting and learning about investment cooperation opportunities in the province. At the same time, he gave the delegation general information about the remarkable and comprehensive development steps with many outstanding achievements of Bac Ninh province in all fields in recent times.

Nam emphasized that Bac Ninh province always pays attention to and constantly strengthens its relationship with Chinese localities and enterprises. Currently, the province has signed agreements and memorandums of understanding on cooperation with 05 Chinese localities including: Nanning City, Lai Tan City (Guangxi Province); Weifang City (Shandong Province); Zhenjiang City (Jiangsu Province); Hekou District (Yunnan Province). Notably, in 2024, the provincial delegation visited and worked with the Foshan City government and agencies of Guangdong Province, creating a premise for implementing cooperation activities between the two localities.

The Deputy Chief hoped that the working session with the delegation of the Foreign Affairs Department, Foshan City and Han Lam Environmental Company would continue to be an opportunity for the two localities to openly share their potential, strengths, and cooperation opportunities, enhance mutual understanding, and contribute to promoting deeper cooperation between the two localities in the coming time.
