(BNP) - On the afternoon of January 9th, a delegation from the Ministry of Public Security, led by General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Political Bureau and Minister of Public Security worked with Bac Ninh province to discuss several issues related to the Gia Binh International Airport Project and related projects.

At the meeting, representatives from the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee stated that the Gia Binh International Airport project is being built on a total area of 1,960 hectares. Regarding agricultural land, Bac Ninh province has surveyed and registered ownership for 6,461 out of 6,907 households and individuals, covering an area of 1,054.48 hectares (83.4%); of which VND 3,059.48 billion has been advanced and paid for 730.61 hectares. To date, 1,089 hectares of land have been cleared. Currently, provincial agencies are continuing to collect documents, review, and inventory approximately 209 hectares of agricultural land, proactively coordinating with the investor to strive for completion before January 15, 2026.

To date, the province has completed the registration and ownership verification for approximately 10,000 graves; built over 2,000 out of 5,000 tomb shells at the new cemetery site; and has begun relocating graves, with the goal of completing the relocation of all 5,000 graves before January 31, 2026.
In addition, localities in Bac Ninh province are implementing four projects serving resettlement and cemetery relocation. Along with the Gia Binh International Airport project, there are three related projects. Specifically, the Investment Project for the construction of a road directly connecting to Gia Binh International Airport (BT1 project) has a total length of 12 km and a cross-section of 80m. The project has been reviewed by the provincial appraisal council. The investor is finalizing the plan and expects it to be approved before January 20, 2026, with an estimated total investment of over VND 6,000 billion.
Regarding the Investment Project for the Construction of Works Serving Land Clearance for Gia Binh International Airport (BT3 Project), the Provincial People's Committee has directed localities and relevant agencies to coordinate with the investor to urgently organize the preparation of the BT project to compensate for these works. It is expected that approval will be completed by February 2026. The total estimated investment is approximately VND 16,000 billion.

In the coming period, Bac Ninh province is determined to complete all land clearance work for phase 1 of the Gia Binh International Airport Project, ensuring the handover of sufficient land for the construction of the runway and other items serving APEC according to the required schedule; striving to complete the relocation of graves before February 5, 2026 and clear the land for the road connecting Gia Binh airport with Hanoi before June 30, 2026.
During the meeting, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province requested the Ministry of Public Security to continue paying attention to, directing, and supporting the locality in ensuring security and order; resolving difficulties regarding mechanisms, material sources, and progress of BT projects; and coordinating in resolving issues arising during the implementation of this national key project.
During the working session, delegates focused on proposing, analyzing, and clarifying the difficulties and obstacles in the compensation and land clearance process for the Gia Binh International Airport Project and related projects.

Concluding the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized: The completion of the Gia Binh International Airport Project will make a significant contribution to the development of the country's aviation economy and socio-economic development, successfully achieving the two goals of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the nation. Gia Binh International Airport is also a "point of attraction" for many large investors from around the world to come to Vietnam and Bac Ninh to seek opportunities for cooperation, investment, and development.

Following the directives of the Minister of Public Security, Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai respectfully thanked General Luong Tam Quang and the delegation for their close attention and guidance. He affirmed that Bac Ninh province will continue to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies, focusing intensely, mobilizing maximum resources, and resolutely accelerating the implementation and completion of the Gia Binh International Airport Project according to the set requirements.
