Tien Du commune organizes many activities at Lim Festival in Spring of Lunar New Year of Horse 2026

(BNP) - The People's Committee of Tien Du commune has just issued Plan on the plan for managing and organizing the Lim Festival in the Spring of Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026

Accordingly, the Lim Festival 2026 will be held over two days, from February 28th to March 1st, 2026 (corresponding to the 12th and 13th days of the first lunar month of the Year of the Horse), in the villages of the former Noi Due commune (now Tien Du commune), including seven villages: Due Dong, Due Nam, Due Khanh, Dinh Ca, Lung Giang, Lung Son, and Lo Bao. The festival center will be Hong Van Mountain (Lim Mountain).

The ceremonial part includes activities such as offering incense to inaugurate the festival at Hong An Pagoda; and performing rituals at the tomb of General Nguyen Dinh Dien. Particularly noteworthy is the ceremony to receive the Certificate recognizing the Lim Festival as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage at the central stage on Lim Hill.

The festival part includes call-and-response singing and Quan Ho folk singing exchanges at the Quan Ho singing camps (6 camps); Quan Ho singing on boats, at temple gates, water pavilions, Quan Ho performance houses, artisan houses, and on the central stage of the festival. Folk games include: To Tom Diem (a traditional Vietnamese card game), calligraphy, poetry recitation, and chess. A cultural performance program will be held on the central stage of the festival.

The festival also features provincial-level freestyle wrestling and traditional wrestling championships; folk games such as swinging, blindfolded goat catching, pot smashing, etc.; and cultural, culinary, and entertainment activities at the festival center and surrounding villages.
