Bac Ninh strives to increase GRDP by 4 – 5% in 2021

Despite the complicated developments and deep impact of Covid-19 on most economic sectors, in 2020, Bac Ninh province has gained significant achievements. Specifically, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) is estimated at VND 122.7 trillion, increasing 1.36% compared with previous year; GRDP scale is estimated at VND 205.1 trillion; per capita GRDP is estimated at VND 144.5 million, or 2.1 times higher than the national average. The accumulated to the end of October 31, 2020, there are 1,607 valid foreign investment projects with a total registered capital of USD 19.7 billion. Industrial production value (at 2010 constant prices) is estimated at VND 1.13 million billion, up 2% compared to 2019. Export of goods is estimated at 36.5 billion USD, up 7.3% compared to 2019; import of goods was USD 31.5 billion, up 12.3%. State budget revenue is estimated at VND 29,792 billion, among which, domestic revenue is estimated at VND 23,535 billion.

The Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) ranked 4 out of 63 provinces and cities (up 11 ranks with the highest score after 8 years); Public Administration Reform Index (PAR INDEX) ranked 18th out of 63 (up 5 ranks); Information and Communication Technologies Index (ICT Index) ranked 6 out of 63 (up 5 ranks).

100% of communes were recognized as meeting new rural standards, 8 out of 8 districts, towns and cities are eligible to meet new rural standards. The career of culture, society, education, health and is developed; a dossier of Dong Ho folk painting was approved and submitted to UNESCO for consideration and inclusion in the list of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent safeguarding by Prime Minister; 12 Doctoral steles in Bac Ninh Temple of Literature and Cua Vo Dinh Dinh Diem were recognized as national treasures

In 2021, the Provincial People's Committee will drastically implement synchronous solutions, especially perform well the "dual-task” of both promoting socio-economic development and fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic; concretize the tasks and objectives of the Resolution of the 20^th Provincial Party Congress.

On the other hand, the province also promulgates mechanisms and policies to support and increase access to capital of people and businesses; promote economic restructuring associated with growth model innovation; focus on investment attraction; develop enterprises, collective economy and private economy; promote application of information technology and build a smart city, complete the criteria… thus, making Bac Ninh becomes a centrally-run city in the direction of civilization and modernization. The province also strives to increase GRDP by 4-5% compared to 2020; average GRDP per capita reaches VND 149.4 million/person; total import and export turnover is USD 68.8 billion; total state budget revenue is VND 27,839 billion; rate of poor households by the end of 2021 is 1.1%...
