Business delegation of the Russian Federation visits and explores investment opportunities in Bac Ninh

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Nhan Chien gave an overview of the situation of Bac Ninh's economic, political and social development, especially the potentials and advantages of the province. Accumulated to September 2019, Bac Ninh has granted investment registration to more than 1,420 FDI projects from 34 countries and territories with a total investment of more than USD 18.3 billion, mainly in electronics, manufacturing and processing industries. Ranking first, second and third on investment capital scale is Korea, Singapore, Japan in turn.

Leader of Bac Ninh announced that the orientation of attracting FDI of Bac Ninh province in the coming time will focus on the fields of high technology, education, health and resolving environmental issues, while selecting investors according to criteria "2 less, 3 high" (less land, less labor; high investment capital, high budget contribution and high technology content).

The Secretary Nguyen Nhan Chien desired that, in addition to the economic field, Bac Ninh and the Yaroslav Region, as well as the cities of the Russian Federation, would cooperate in all other fields such as education, science, and technology, culture, society, especially learning and collaborating on building the smart city. The cooperation will strengthen the good traditional relationship and raise the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in general, Bac Ninh and the Yaroslav Region in particular.

For her part, Ms. Bagrova Natalia highly appreciated the outstanding development of Bac Ninh province over the past time and was very impressive of many preferential policies to attract investment for foreign businesses. She also shared information about the potentials and advantages of the Yaroslav region, which is among the largest industrial centers of the Russian Federation, has many research institutes, which produce many inventions in fields of industry, agriculture, shipbuilding, manufacturing,... As one of the leading countries worldwide in building smart cities, the Russian Federation is ready to share with Vietnam in general and Bac Ninh province in particular about developing this field.

Ms. Bagrova Natalia hoped, through the meeting, to learn many mutual things, related to the economic, cultural and social fields for cooperation and development in the coming time. At the same time, she wished Bac Ninh province to continue to have many mechanisms, policies, and facilitate Russian enterprises to invest, thereby contributing to the overall economic development of Bac Ninh province.

Within the framework of the meeting, the two sides exchanged and discussed the signing of cooperation between Bac Ninh province and one of the Russian cities and the construction of a Vietnam Business Center in the Yaroslav region.

Also at the meeting, representatives of businesses of the two countries exchanged and explored investment opportunities, contents related to market, import and export taxes in Bac Ninh and Yaroslav region.
