Delegation of Committee on Economy of the National Assembly pays a working session in Bac Ninh province

The delegation of Economic Committee of the National Assembly discusses with the leader of Bac Ninh province

Receiving and working with the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Nhan Chien, Member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Huu Thanh, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Mrs. Tran Thi Hang, Deputy Head of Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies.

Reported at the meeting, in the first 8 months of 2018, Bac Ninh's economy kept growing well with a wide range of very great indicators. For instance, the industrial production value reached over VND 661 trillion, edging up 19%; state budget revenue reached VND 18,543 billion, gaining 77.7% of the estimate and increasing by 22% over the same period last year; 73 out of 97 communes met new rural standards, achieving an average of 18.51 criteria/commune.

In 2019, Bac Ninh strives to increase Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) from 9.5% to 10.5% compared to 2018. Total import-export turnover plans to reach USD 31 billion, increasing by about 2% in comparison with 2018; total social development investment will account for about 37.7% GRDP; the rate of poor households will be reduced to less than 2%; the rate of trained workers will be about 72%. The rate of industrial parks where build integrated water-waste treatment system is 100%.

In his conclusion, Mr. Vu Hong Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairman of Economic Committee of National Assembly, highly appreciated the achievements of Bac Ninh in the implementation of resolutions of the National Assembly for socio-economic development in the locality. At the same time, it is expected that Bac Ninh province will continue to accelerate administrative reform, improve provincial competitiveness, attract investment and make a close link between local businesses and FDI enterprises, thereby promoting comprehensive development in the locality.

Previously, the delegation of Economic Committee of the National Assembly had a survey at Samsung Group (at Yen Phong Industrial Zone) and Tien Thanh Joint Stock Company (at Que Vo Industrial Zone), which is one of the supporting enterprises of Samsung Group.
