(BNP) - On August 2, a delegation of Bac Ninh province led by Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate member of Party Central Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee visited and worked with Embassy of Vietnam in United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Joining the delegation were Mr. Nghiem Dinh Trung, member in the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; leaders of relevant provincial departments and sectors.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Vietnamese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland welcomed and worked with Bac Ninh province’s delegation.
On behalf of the delegation, Standing Vice Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan briefed the Ambassador on the outstanding achievements in socio-economic development and major orientations in the development goals of the province in the upcoming time.

Tuan highly appreciated the Embassy and its representative agencies for their efforts in promoting the friendship and cooperation relations between the UK and Vietnam in general, as well as with Bac Ninh province in particular. At the same time, he hoped that the Ambassador would continue to support the province in promoting and encouraging UK businesses to explore and invest in the province, especially in strong fields of UK industries such as education, clean energy, high technology, healthcare, etc.

In term of culture, tourism, people-to-people diplomacy, the Embassy supports the province in carrying out information exchange activities, promoting distinctive cultural values, heritages and famous tourist destinations to the people of the UK. In term of education and training, the Embassy promotes cooperation and participation of the British Council in English language training at provincial educational institutions; pays attention, supports and creates favorable conditions for Bac Ninh community in the UK to live, study and work safely.

In the forthcoming time, Bac Ninh is advocating for UNESCO to recognize the technique of making Dong Ho folk paintings as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in urgent need of human protection. Tuan also hoped that the Ambassador will promote to people of the UK in order to support Bac Ninh in mobilizing UNESCO for recognition as soon as possible.

For his part, Ambassador Nguyen Hoang Long welcomed the visit and work of Bac Ninh provincial delegation to United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as well as expressed his interest in the delegation’s proposals and promised to support and create favorable conditions for promotion of the activities and contents set out by both sides with an aim to resulting in satisfactory results in the upcoming time.
