The Ministry of Information and Communication’s inspectors work in Bac Ninh

Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Tien Nhuong delivers a speech at the working session

Receiving and working with the inspection mission was Mr. Nguyen Tien Nhuong, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Information Technology (IT) Development, and leaders of relevant departments.

Over the past years, the Provincial People's Committee has instructed the agencies to fulfill the tasks of ensuring information security according to the Government's regulations and the guidance of the Ministry of Information and Communication. Department of Information and Communication has promoted its role as a specialized agency on IT, coordinated monitoring network security, promptly alerted, detected and dealt with situations that caused the loss of information, initially limited damages to IT system of state agencies in the province.

According to the Prime Minister's conclusion, Bac Ninh province has been selected to pilot the construction of a smart city model, so required the formation of large-scale information systems with different characteristics and many new technologies and equipment. Therefore, for the current situation of the province, it is very essential to ensure information that is secure for the various components of the smart city without affecting the exploitation of the system, promoting efficiency in the management and administration of the city.

Bac Ninh province requested the Ministry of Information and Communication to advise the Government on the issuance of appropriate regulations to ensure the conditions and capacity for implementing the task of information security, to select Bac Ninh as a pilot to deploy the cooperation model between the Ministry of Information and Communication and the Provincial People's Committee in the task of ensuring information security for smart electronic and intelligent city, to early issue guidelines on quality management of investment in IT projects,...

Delivering the concluding remarks at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Nguyen Thanh Hung highly appreciated the interest of Bac Ninh province in the application of IT in the province in general and the work of ensuring information security in particular, step by step meeting the needs in the new situation. The Deputy Minister also asked the province to keep paying attention to building up a contingent of IT staffs that have the capability and ability to deal with the problem in time and to launch methods for information protection, operation standards, and information infrastructure maintenance.

Furthermore, the Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung requested the Department of Information & Communication to consult the Provincial People's Committee to build a Network Security Monitoring Center to serve the deployment of smart city construction.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tien Nhuong acknowledged and thanked the mission for the sincere contributions to the province. At the same time, it is expected that the Ministry of Information and Communication and relevant agencies would continue to receive the attention and coordination to assist and support the province in ensuring the information security in the province, especially the management of Information infrastructure after investment.
