Vice Chairman Dao Quang Khai works with Ministry of Environment of Japan

(BNP) - On July 23, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Dao Quang Khai received and worked with a Delegation of Policy and Coordination Division (Ministry of Environment of Japan) led by Chief Advisor Hideki Wada to exchange the technical cooperation and financial support in the field of Waste-to-Energy project formulation.

At the meeting, Mr. Hideki Wada informed that the Ministry of Environment of Japan is currently working on the project to study the solid waste management improvement in Vietnam and seeking for localities to cooperate in the field of solid waste treatment in general and waste-to-energy in particular through technical cooperation and financial support.

Mr. Hideki Wada hoped that Bac Ninh will select suitable locations for the project to be effectively implemented in the province.

Vice Chairman Khai said that the province is currently building 4 high-tech waste treatment plants in Que Vo and Thuan Thanh and Luong Tai districts with a capacity of about 1,300 tons/day and night.

He hoped to get technical cooperation on waste treatment with Japan. At the same time, he affirmed that the province will enable the Ministry of Environment of Japan to carry out the project with the highest efficiency.

The Vice Chairman assigned Department of Natural Resources and Environment to survey and evaluate as well as make a detailed cooperation plan.
