More than 17,000 poor households get preferential loans in 2018

(BNP) – In 2018, more than 17,000 poor households, near-poor households, social policy beneficiaries gained access to preferential loans worth over VND 561 billion.

Loan sales mainly focused on some programs including loans for poor households was more than VND 43.5 billion; near poor households was more than VND 55 billion; new households escaping poverty was more than VND 146 billion; clean water and environmental sanitation was more VND 150 billion, creating jobs was more than VND 126 billion and social housing was more than VND 26 billion.

Policy credit activities have helped poor households, near poor households and other policy beneficiaries having capital source to invest production development, increase income and improve living standards, thereby, contributing to reducing the rate of poor households, limiting bad loans to ensure social security and building new-style rural areas.

Money from the policy capital sources helped nearly 2,000 households overcoming poverty thresholds; timely supported capital production and business and created jobs for nearly 9,000 employees; supported 44 womens, young people, business establishments in borrowing capital to start a business; helped over 600 students with difficult circumstances i to study in the year; built over 20,000 clean water and sanitation projects and so on.
