Local people go shopping for Tet.
Due to the Lunar New Year and many festivals, trading and service activities continue to rise. In particular, urban areas tend to convert shopping at traditional markets to supermarkets, convenience stores, and online shopping. Before Tet holiday, the number of consumers increased by 3 - 4 times compared to weekdays. However, thanks to a plentiful supply of goods and the support of the Provincial People's Committee under the price stabilization program, prices remain stable after Tet.
In addition, market management has been strengthened to detect and prevent counterfeit, contraband, poor quality goods and protect the legitimate interests of consumers.
In the first 2 months of the year, total retail sales reached VND 7,146.4 billion, up 9.1% over the same period. In particular, the individual economic sector reached 4,507.4 billion VND, up 6.9%; meanwhile, the private economy reached 2,556.8 billion, up 17.4%. Some essential goods have a higher index than the same period such as car, metals and gems, petroleum, home appliances, and vehicles.
