(BNP) - Yen Man pagoda (Kinh Bac ward, Bac Ninh city) was built during the Ly dynasty, and was rebuilt on a large scale during the Le - Nguyen dynasty. In 2003, many of the pagoda’s structures were overhauled. Yen Man pagoda was built to worship Buddha, the Mother Goddess, and the founders. This is the center of Buddhist religious activities of the local people.

Yen Man pagoda is located in the middle of Yen Man quarter, next to the village communal house, forming a solemn ancient relic complex. The pagoda is surrounded by a residential area.


The roof has soft curved edges.

Yen Man pagoda currently has the following structures: Tam Quan (Three-door gate), Tien Duong (Front Ceremonial Hall), Thieu Huong, Thuong Dien, Ancestral House, Mother Goddess House, and two corridors.

The Front Ceremonial Hall consists of 3 compartments with a wooden frame. The roof is covered with tiles with soft curved corners. The doors open in the 3 middle compartments facing west. The outside is surrounded by corridors running around.

The pagoda still preserves the bronze Nine Dragons of the Nguyen dynasty; 03 green stone incense bowls of the Nguyen dynasty, a bronze bell of the Tay Son dynasty dated 1799...

The Buddha statues are worshiped at the pagoda.

Yen Man pagoda is the center of religious activities of the local people worshiping Buddhism. Here, on the full moon days, the first day of the lunar month, holidays, Lunar New Year, Lantern Festival, Vu Lan, full moon of the seventh lunar month..., local people come to the pagoda to worship Buddha, send wishes for themselves and their families.

Yen Man pagoda was ranked as a National Historical and Artistic Relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information in Decision No. 154/QD, dated January 25, 1991.
