Bac Ninh is a northern gateway province of Hanoi capital, in the economic growth triangle of Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh. It borders Bac Giang province to the North, Hanoi capital to the West and Southwest, Hung Yen province to the South, Hai Duong province to the East. The total natural land area is 822.7 km2. According to the Statistical Yearbook of 2022, the province's population is 1,488,250 people, of which men account for 49.2%, women 50.8%; The average population density is 1,808 people per km2.
The province has 8 administrative units, including: Bac Ninh city, Tu Son city, Thuan Thanh town, Que Vo town and 4 districts: Tien Du, Yen Phong, Gia Binh and Luong Tai with 126 commune-level administrative units, including 70 communes, 52 wards and 4 townships.
1. Bac Ninh city:
Bac Ninh city is located in the south of Cau River, in the northeast of the province, 30km from the center of Hanoi capital to the south. The city's area is 82.6 km2, the population is 213,061 people with 19 administrative units and 19 wards. Location adjacent to the following localities:
The North borders Bac Giang province;
The South borders on Tien Du district, Que Vo town;
The East borders Que Vo town;
The West borders on Tien Du district, Yen Phong district.
2. Tu Son City:
Tu Son is a city located to the west of the province, with an area of 61.3 km2, a population of 172,360 people with 12 administrative units including 07 wards and 05 communes. Location adjacent to the following localities:
The North borders Yen Phong district;
The South borders Gia Lam district (Hanoi city);
The East borders on Tien Du district;
The West borders Dong Anh district (Hanoi city).
3. Tien Du district:
Tien Du is a district located in the southwest of Bac Ninh province, 5km south of the provincial center, 25km north of Hanoi capital. The natural area of the district is 95.6 km2, a population of 153,412 people with 14 administrative units including 01 town and 13 communes. Location adjacent to the following localities:
The North borders Bac Ninh city and Yen Phong district;
The south borders Thuan Thanh town;
The East borders Que Vo town;
The West borders Tu Son city.
4. Yen Phong district:
Yen Phong is a plain district, located in the west of Bac Ninh province. The area is 96.9 km2, the population is 177,814 people with 14 administrative units including 01 town and 13 communes. Location adjacent to the following localities:
The North borders with two districts of Hiep Hoa and Viet Yen (Bac Giang province);
The South borders Dong Anh district (Hanoi city), Tu Son city, Tien Du district (Bac Ninh province);

5. Que Vo town:
Que Vo is a district located in the east of Bac Ninh province, the center of the district is 10km north of Bac Ninh city, 40km southwest of Hanoi capital. The area of the district is 155.1 km2, the population is 219,929 people with 21 administrative units including 11 wards and 10 communes. Location adjacent to the following localities:
The North borders Yen Dung district, Viet Yen district (Bac Giang province);
The South borders Gia Binh district;
The East borders Chi Linh district (Hai Duong province);
The West borders Tien Du district and Bac Ninh city.
6. Thuan Thanh town:
Thuan Thanh is a town in the south of Duong River, Bac Ninh province, with an area of 117.8 km2, a population of 199,577 people with 18 administrative units including 10 wards and 08 communes. Location adjacent to the following localities:
The North borders Tien Du district and Que Vo town;
The South borders Van Lam district (Hung Yen province);

7. Gia Binh district:
Gia Binh is a district in the Northern Delta region, 25km northwest of Bac Ninh city center, 35km southwest of Hanoi capital. The area of the district is 107.6 km2, the population is 95,388 people with 14 administrative units including 01 town and 13 communes. Location adjacent to the following localities:

8. Luong Tai District:
Luong Tai is a low-lying district of Bac Ninh province, about 30 km from the provincial capital. The area of the district is 105.9 km2, the population is 99,052 people with 14 administrative units including 01 town and 13 communes. Location adjacent to the following localities:
