Bac Ninh province builds 3 concentrated agriculture, forestry and fishery development areas

(BNP) - According to the Provincial Planning for the 2021-2023 period with a vision to 2050 that was approved by the Prime Minister, the province will build and form 3 concentrated agriculture, forestry and fishery development areas.

The specialized agricultural production area is concentrated in the southern Duong River area, including Thuan Thanh town, Gia Binh and Luong Tai districts associated with the process of industrialization, urbanization and development of agricultural, bio tourism, and handicraft villages. At the same time, it combines the development of agricultural processing industry with raw material areas to promote production development along the value chain, increasing the agricultural product value.

The province develops high-quality rice production and processing areas (Luong Tai and Gia Binh districts) with a scale of about 5,000 hectares. Safe fruit and vegetable production areas are concentrated on a large scale in the districts of Gia Binh (about 600 hectares), Luong Tai (about 550 hectares), Thuan Thanh town (about 400 hectares). It also forms concentrated fruit growing areas with a scale of 5 hectares or more in Gia Binh district and Thuan Thanh town, which specialize in growing all kinds of oranges, Dien pomelo, green-skinned grapefruit, bananas, guavas, apples, and so on. Concentrated aquaculture areas are stabilized with an area of ​​10 hectares or more in Luong Tai and Gia Binh districts, combining the application of high technology to promote intensive and super-intensive fish farming in ponds. Bac Ninh develops concentrated livestock farming areas outside residential areas with a capacity of about 40,000 animals. It further promotes investment attraction in projects such as production, processing and preservation of agricultural products in Luong Tai district. The province attracts investment in a centralized slaughterhouse and food processing factory in Gia Binh district industrial park; builds a small-scale livestock and poultry slaughterhouse in Luong Tai district; and livestock farms combined with aquaculture in Gia Binh and Luong Tai districts; as well as develops organic vegetable and fruit production areas.

The concentrated urban agricultural area includes Que Vo town, Tien Du and Yen Phong districts, Bac Ninh and Tu Son cities with a development orientation towards high-tech agriculture. Bac Ninh province builds a large-scale and modern farm system. The application of smart farming models combined with trade and services is focused, thereby, aiming to develop circular agriculture to minimize waste and environmental impact, improve productivity and shorten the supply chain.

This area will develop safe vegetable, tuber and fruit production areas concentrated in Que Vo town, Tien Du and Yen Phong districts; stabilize concentrated aquaculture areas in Que Vo town; build high-tech agricultural production zones (Que Vo town and Tien Du district); and attract investment to build a high-tech cattle breeding facility in Yen Phong district and apply smart farming models (Yen Phong and Tien Du districts, Tu Son city). It also constructs a centralized slaughterhouse and food processing factory in Que Vo Industrial Park, etc.

Agricultural and service area along the Duong River will take advantage of alluvial land on both sides of the Duong River combined with river landscape to develop agriculture combining services and tourism. The land scale is about 2,500 hectares located on both sides of the Duong River, conveniently located near industrial zones and clusters of Thuan Thanh and Que Vo towns, Gia Binh and Tien Du districts. High-tech raw material growing areas with short-term industrial crops, flower fields, medicinal plants, spices, and fruit trees will be developed here. It also constructs and develops organic agricultural production models associated with processing and extraction industries, and builds a display area to introduce high-tech agricultural products.
