Bac Ninh province holds “Meet Bac Ninh - Japan” program
(BNP) - On November 17, the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee jointly held the “Meet Bac Ninh - Japan” program at Kinh Bac Cultural Center.

Participants at the program were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; and the comrades from the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People’s Council, People’s Committee and Delegation of National Assembly Deputies as well as representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, departments, branches, sectors, localities and some domestic enterprises in the province.
Japanese delegates attending the Program were Mr. Watanabe Shige, Deputy Ambassador of Japan to Vietnam; Mr. Kubota Masaharu, Former Deputy Minister of Transport of Japan; Mr. Nakajima Takeo, Chief Representative of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO); and Japanese organizations in Vietnam as well as FDI enterprises with Japanese investment capital.
In his welcome speech, Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan highlighted that Bac Ninh province would always pay attention to the promotion of economic cooperation, investment and cultural exchanges with Japanese partners, especially in the context of 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between two countries.
Tuan said that there are about 100 Japanese projects in operation in Bac Ninh with the registered capital of more than USD 1.67 billion.
He affirmed that Japan is a country with high-tech fields in which the province is calling for investment with the aim of making Bac Ninh into a high-tech and industrial development zone.
He also hoped that Japanese enterprises participating in the Program would help Bac Ninh spread, connect and introduce more Japanese investors to invest in the province.
Mr. Watanabe Shige stressed that the Vietnam-Japan relationship is considered to be at its best stage, with many visits between high-level leaders of the two countries on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. In addition to high-ranking exchanges, many events also take place in the provinces and cities of Vietnam, including Bac Ninh province, he added.
He expressed his hope to accompany and stand side by side with Bac Ninh province. He also wished that more Japanese enterprises would invest in and expand operation in the province.
At the Program, Standing Vice Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan and functional departments and sectors informed about the province’s potential, strength and investment attraction orientation in the upcoming time as well as the production and business activities of enterprises in industrial parks in general, and Japanese enterprises in particular. At the same time, Tuan directly answered the enterprises’ recommendations on some issues that those enterprises were concerned about.
Concluding the Program, Chairwoman Nguyen Huong Giang confirmed that Bac Ninh always considers Japanese partners as friends and companions to develop together, thereby, bringing practical benefits to all parties and the people. Receiving opinions from the delegates, Giang pledged to improve further the business investment environment, create all conditions and support investors when they invest in Bac Ninh province.
On this occasion, IOZ Company under Moriga Company handed over 500 software accounts in management of traffic participants using alcohol concentration and 20 alcohol meters to Bac Ninh province.
At the Program, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation was signed between the Provincial People's Committee and Nihon Toyo Group of Japan. An interim executive board of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association of Bac Ninh province made its debut, and a MoU on cooperation between the Vietnamese Association in the Kansai region and the Provincial Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association was also inked.
