Bac Ninh ranks top nationwide in 2023 Provincial Innovation Index
(BNP) – According to the announcement of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Bac Ninh province is in the top nationwide in terms of the Provincial Innovation Index (PII) in 2023.
The PII index set in 2023 has 52 indicators, divided into 7 pillars (according to the principles of the GII index), including 05 input pillars reflecting factors that create favorable conditions for economic development - society based on science, technology and innovation, including: (1) Institutions, (2) Human capital and Research and Development, (3) Infrastructure, (4) Market development level and (5) Enterprise development level; – 02 output pillars reflect the impact of science, technology and innovation on socio-economic development including: (6) Knowledge, creativity and technology products, (7) Impact.
Calculating the sum of the indicator scores, Bac Ninh province reached 49.2 points, ranked 6th nationwide, and ranked 3rd in the Red River Delta region.
In the ranking, Hanoi is the locality with the highest score, reaching 62.86 points, followed by Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Da Nang, and Can Tho.
According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, with a wide and comprehensive scope, the PII index will be a tool for each province/city to reflect in detail on aspects of output and input, clearly identifying strengths and weaknesses, potential factors and necessary conditions to promote socio-economic development based on science, technology and innovation./.
