Provincial People’s Committee meets with excellent students participating in National Team Selection Contest for Regional and International Olympic Competitions

Attending and encouraging students were Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the PPC; leaders of the Department of Education and Training, and the PPC’s Office.

During the National Excellent Student Selection Contest in the 2023-2024 academic year, Bac Ninh province had 79 out of 86 contestants winning prizes, accounting for 91.86%. Among them, 11 students achieved First prizes, 23 students achieved Second prizes, 28 students achieved Third prizes and 17 students achieved Consolation prizes. 06 subjects in Bac Ninh province winning first prizes included Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, History; only Physics won 5 First prizes.

With the results achieved, Bac Ninh province this year ranks 2^nd nationwide in terms of the percentage of contestants winning prizes. It has higher prize quality with the highest number of First prizes ever, ranking 3^rd in the country.

Especially, after the National Excellent Student Selection Contest for the 2023-2024 academic year, Bac Ninh province had 15 students summoned by the Ministry of Education and Training to participate in the National Team Selection Contest for Regional and International Olympic Competitions. The Olympic competitions are scheduled to take place from March 25 to March 28, 2024. Bac Ninh province’s contestants were summoned to teams including: Math (4 students), Physics (5 students), Chemistry (4 students), Biology and Informatics (1 student each).

Speaking at the meeting, PPC’s Standing Vice Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan acknowledged, praised and congratulated the achievements gained by the Education and Training sector, teachers and students in the National Excellent Student Selection Contest in the 2023-2024 academic year.

Tuan also hoped that parents would continue to pay attention, care for and encourage their children. The students maintain good health, are confident and determined to enter the exam with the highest results to bring glory to themselves, their families and the school, he added. Therefore, these achievements will continue to affirm the educational and training position of the Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac homeland.

Student Nguyen Huu Tien Hung of the Chemistry team sincerely thanked the love and concern of the provincial leaders, teachers and parents. At the same time, he promised to continue to strive, make efforts, stay calm, and focus to have the best performance in the upcoming exam and achieve the best results.
