Bac Ninh receives and plants 100 cherry blossom trees at Van Mieu Balancing Lake Park
(BNP) - On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - 2023), at Van Mieu Balancing Lake Park, Bac Ninh City People's Committee on March 17 received and planted 100 cherry blossom trees. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Tan Phuong attended the ceremony.

Also attending the ceremony were Mr. Ta Dang Doan, Secretary of the Bac Ninh City Party Committee; Deputy Ambassador Watanabe Shige, Embassy of Japan in Vietnam; Mr. Toshimichi Maeda, Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Chukyo; leaders of departments, agencies and branches of the province and Bac Ninh city.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Hieu thanked the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association in Chukyo region for bringing the Japan's friendship and colors to Bac Ninh city. Bac Ninh city would continue to take care and protect the tree, ensuring the best growth and development of the cherry blossom tree.
Someday soon, Bac Ninh’s people will be able to see Japanese cherry blossoms in full bloom in Bac Ninh homeland, contributing to the relationship between Bac Ninh city, Bac Ninh province and Chukyo region in particular and Vietnam and Japan in general, Hieu added.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Tan Phuong emphasized, this event not only marks the reception of 100 cherry blossom trees but also contains the precious love of Japanese people for Bac Ninh province. He hoped that the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association in Chukyo region will continue to support Bac Ninh province in giving, planting and caring for the cherry blossom trees, thereby, affirming the strong and close friendship between Vietnam - Japan in general as well as Bac Ninh with localities and Japanese partners in particular.
After the ceremony of receiving 100 cherry blossom trees, participants planted the trees in the Van Mieu Balancing Lake Park.
