Bac Ninh reviews the National Target Program on New Rural Development

Secretary of Provincial Party Committee awards Emulation Flag of Provincial People's Committee to typical collectives.

After more than 9 years of implementation, Bac Ninh has completed the objectives of the New Rural Development for the 2010-2020 period. The rural infrastructure system has been upgraded and gradually developed in the direction of urbanization to better meet the production and living needs of the people. The structure of the agricultural economy is shifting towards developing commodity production with increasing scale. The share of industry and service values ​​in industry and services has increased rapidly. The material and spiritual life of the people is improved; traditional cultural values ​​are constantly preserved and promoted; the grassroots political system is becoming stronger.

By the end of July 2019, Bac Ninh had 89 of 97 communes (reaching 91.75%) recognized to meet the new rural standards (up 55.67% compared to the end of 2015). The average number of criteria/commune of the whole province reached 18.85 (up 10 criteria compared to 2010 and up 3.14 criteria compared to 2015). Four districts including Tien Du, Que Vo, Gia Binh, and Tu Son town are recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting new rural standards; Bac Ninh city has 3 of 3 communes meeting new rural standards. Particularly, the Prime Minister has issued a decision recognizing Bac Ninh city as a grade-I city.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, speaking at the conference, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Nhan Chien congratulated achievements in New Rural Development that the Party Committee, the government and the people in the province made great efforts to obtain over the years. At the same time, it is recommended that localities continue to do well the propaganda and awareness-raising activities for officials, party members and people in New Rural Development. In addition, it is needed to review the objectives of the 2016-2020 period to continue planning, the roadmap for improving the quality of the following criteria to meet standards, quality assurance and sustainability.

Launching the emulation movement "Bac Ninh join hands in New Rural Development" in the period of 2020-2025, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Quynh called on all levels and branches to seriously implement the guidance of the central agencies and the province on New Rural Development Program, and the campaign "All people build new rural areas and civilized cities". The Chairman also requested units to continue to mobilize, integrate and effectively use resources to build new rural areas; to improve material life, the spirit of the people in the communes meeting the New Rural standards.

At the conference, 6 collectives were honored to receive the Emulation Flag of Provincial People's Committee; 32 collectives and 39 individuals were received the Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of Provincial People's Committee.
