State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese works in Bac Ninh

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Luong Thanh Nghi said that the program "Homeland Spring 2020" is an annual event organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese since 2008. This is a program for overseas Vietnamese nationals from across the global to return to their homeland to celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year festival, known locally as Tet.

In 2020, the program "Homeland Spring" is scheduled to be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at the National Convention Center, Hanoi with many meaningful activities. In particular, the ceremony of offering incense and releasing carp will take place at Do Temple complex – which holds the temples for eight emperors of the Ly Dynasty (Tu Son town, Bac Ninh province) and pray for peace and prosperity for the country.

Mr. Luong Thanh Nghi suggested that Bac Ninh province continue to work closely with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese to carefully prepare the contents with an aim to ensuring the ceremony of offering incense and releasing carp at Do Temple as well as ensuring absolute security and safety for the participants.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phong urged the provincial agencies and units and the People's Committee of Tu Son town according to the functions and tasks to closely coordinate with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese to prepare all conditions for the ceremony to take place successfully.

The Vice Chairman assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to build a video clip for the potential strengths, the image of people in Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac and the province's outstanding achievements to introduce and promote at the Program. The provincial public security creates a plan to ensure security and order, ensure safety for the delegation participating in the Program, he added.
