Total retail sales of consumer goods and services reaches more than VND 8,400 billion

(BNP) - Total retail sales of consumer goods and services in January 2023 was estimated at VND 8,432.7 billion, up 5.4% over the previous month, up 30.8% over the same month last year.

Retail sales of goods reached VND 6,748.4 billion, up 5.3% over the previous month; all other commodity groups increased from 0.8-9.2%; wood and building materials group decreased by 0.1%. Compared to the same month last year, retail sales of goods increased by 33%.

Revenue from accommodation and catering services reached VND 768.3 billion, up 5.3% over the previous month and 37.6% over the same month last year; revenue from tourism and travel services, reached VND 6.2 billion, increased by 6.8% compared to the previous month and increased by VND 6.2 billion because there was no revenue last year; revenue from local service industries reached VND 909.7 billion, up 5.6% over the previous month and up 11.7% over the same month last year.
