Workshop on renewal and development of people-to-people diplomatic activities in the period of international integration

Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee attends and gives a speech at the conference

Speaking at the workshop, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tien Nhuong quickly briefed the delegates on the achievements of the province in the political, economic, cultural and social fields. These results are thanks to an effort of all levels and branches in the province, especially the important contribution of the Union of Friendship Organizations, which has worked as a bridge between the Bac Ninh people and the people worldwide and mobilized foreign non-governmental organizations to finance the fields of health and education of the province, he affirmed.

Emphasizing the importance of the people-to-people external relations for socio-economic development, the Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Tien Nhuong suggested the participants of the conference to actively discuss for launching the important ideas and solutions to boost the efficiency of the people-to-people diplomatic affairs in the province in the coming time.

The Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee also asked the Bac Ninh Union of Friendship Organizations to keep thoroughly carrying on Directive 04-CT/TW of the Secretariat of Vietnam Communist Party on further renovation and improvement of people-to-people diplomacy work in the new situation. In addition, it is needed to maintain and expand the people-to-people diplomatic relations, consolidate and develop networks of friends and people-to-people diplomatic organizations, renew the mode of operation, bringing the work of people-to-people diplomacy to become the bridge for the Party's external affairs, state diplomacy of the province...

During the workshop, the participants focused on evaluating the situation and proposed solutions to continue developing, expanding partnerships and implementing external activities in the coming time. Particularly, the mission includes propaganda and education to raise the awareness of the Party’s and State’s officials, socio-political organizations’ staff, and people on matters related to the people-to-people in the new situation; having a strategy for building up forces in charge of the work of the people-to-people diplomacy.

The workshop aimed to further raise the awareness and understanding of officials and people in foreign affairs in the period of international integration, to propose solutions for renewal and development of people-to-people diplomatic activities, thereby introducing, promoting image, cultural identity, investment environment and policy to countries and enterprises for the cooperation and investment in the near future, contributing to turning Bac Ninh province into a centrally-run city by 2022.
