(BNP) - Following the Prime Minister's directive on developing rental housing, Bac Ninh province is implementing a comprehensive set of solutions to increase the supply of social housing, rental housing, and worker accommodation, meeting the growing needs of the workforce employed in industrial zones in the area.

Buildings belonging to the Van Trung social housing project, invested by Fugiang Co., Ltd. for long-term rental, have just been inaugurated and put into use.

As one of the country's industrial growth hubs, Bac Ninh currently attracts hundreds of thousands of workers from many provinces and cities to live and work there. Along with the strong industrial development, the need for stable, safe, and affordable housing for workers is becoming increasingly urgent. This is not only a social welfare issue but also a crucial factor in retaining workers and enhancing competitiveness in attracting investment.

Understanding this situation, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has directed relevant departments, localities, and businesses to urgently accelerate the progress of rental housing projects in the area. The province currently has approximately 5,200 social housing units for rent, 3,487 worker accommodation units in industrial zones, and nearly 13,900 privately-built boarding houses, creating a significant supply of housing for workers. In particular, the province is implementing four worker accommodation projects with a scale of over 5,200 apartments, contributing to supplementing the housing stock in the coming time.

Alongside accelerating project progress, Bac Ninh is focusing on reviewing land resources, perfecting mechanisms and policies, and removing obstacles in the investment implementation process to create favorable conditions for businesses to participate in the development of social housing and rental housing. Simultaneously, the province has established a Housing Fund with an expected charter capital of VND 1,000 billion and is implementing a plan to create a social housing rental fund from this fund. This is an important step to proactively create a stable and long-term supply of rental housing, meeting the needs of workers, laborers, experts, and other individuals in need of housing.

In addition, the province is reviewing 256 land plots with a total area of over 753 hectares to serve the development of social housing and rental housing in the 2026-2030 period, creating a long-term land fund for housing projects serving workers and other individuals in need. Many new worker housing projects are also being implemented in key industrial zones such as Quang Chau, Nam Son - Hap Linh, Gia Binh, and VSIP Bac Ninh II, gradually forming a comprehensive housing system linked to industrial development.

With the orientation of industrial development coupled with ensuring social welfare, Bac Ninh is gradually building a diverse ecosystem of social housing and rental housing, contributing to improving the quality of life for workers, creating a foundation for sustainable growth, and further affirming the attractiveness of the investment environment in the province.
