(BNP) - On the morning of July 9, at the Provincial Convention Center, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh Province organized a conference to brief on the results of implementing socio-economic development tasks in the first 6 months; and the tasks and solutions for implementation in the last 6 months of 2026.

According to the report at the conference, in the first 6 months of 2026, the socio-economic situation of Bac Ninh province continued to achieve many positive results. The economic growth rate (GRDP) was estimated to increase by 10.56%, ranking 6th in the country and belonging to the group of 9 localities achieving double-digit growth; in which, agriculture, forestry and fishery increased by 0.4%; industry - construction increased by 12.55%; services increased by 8.18%; product taxes less product subsidies increased by 5.14%. Total State budget revenue in the area was estimated at over 54 trillion VND, equal to 74.8% of the estimate and equal to 130.2% compared to the same period. The average income of workers reached about 10 million VND/month.
It was estimated that by the end of June 2026, the province disbursed more than 6.3 trillion VND of public investment capital, equal to 32.63% of the plan assigned by the province. Investment attraction achieved highly impressive results as the cumulative figure for the 6 months reached over 9.86 billion USD; in terms of FDI attraction alone, Bac Ninh currently ranked 4th nationwide. According to the announcement of VCCI, in 2025, Bac Ninh province belonged to the group of 5 provinces and cities with the best economic governance quality in the country.

To complete the double-digit economic growth target of 2026, in the final months of the year, Bac Ninh province was concentrating its direction on accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital, site clearance for key projects; and finalizing planning towards becoming a municipality directly under the Central Government. Focus would be placed on removing difficulties for production, ensuring sufficient electricity and petroleum; increasing budget revenue associated with thorough saving of expenditures; developing circular agriculture and actively preventing and controlling natural disasters.
